Good Deed ,Feel Good

Now why would good deed make a person feel good? Well I would think of it this way, if someone did a good deed for me, I am sure I would feel good about it and they would feel good doing it.

A couple of days ago,I went to the supermarket to pick up a few articles of groceries, while I was standing at the check out with my cart and groceries, this elderly lady was ahead of me and when the clerk told her what her groceries came to, this lady started looking for her purse ,then she began to panic ,she was so very upset, she had put her purse in another cart and changed carts, and her cart was nowhere to be seen and she kept saying I have never done this before and all my money and cards are in my wallet, what am I going to do? Seeing her so upset I said to her, wait a minute I will go see if I can find it. So there were others at the other checkouts and so I began asking ,have you seen a purse, have you seen a purse? All of a sudden I heard it is at the office, someone had found it and brought it to the office. So the clerk went and got it. This little lady had tears in her eyes because she was so happy to have her purse and all its belongings inside. So this was my good deed and it honestly did make me feel good . And the good deed I did must have paid off because I came home, checked my mail and guess what? I had made a sale in my zazzle store. So maybe the sale was my reward.

I have been working on my gallery, adding new things very often, If an idea comes to me, then I create, this week it was genealogy related, as you know I love genealogy so this was an easy task, last week I was on the shoe creating, next week I haven’t a clue but I honestly love creating and I do hope others will like my ideas and products. You can view them all at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Family Trees

Binder for many uses
Binder for many uses

I am sure many of you watched the television show Roots long ago, and maybe some have watched the latest Who do you think you are. Well I am into genealogy and we have a group, we decided we wanted to do something nice for somebody. So we are calling on anyone who has Acadian Roots meaning someone who descends from the Acadians .The Acadians were in Nova Scotia back then called Acadie and many of them were exiled to Louisiana,The Carolinas, Virginia Haiti . Names such as Gallant,LeBlanc,Landry,Cormier,Doucet,Arsenault,Boudreau,Thibodeau,Breau,Theriault and there are more. So we are going to have a draw for a winner and once we have the lucky winner we will try and trace two of their lines if we can. Now we are not just going to give  dates and places, if we can find little tidbits about them, sometimes it is not possible but sometimes it is then we will add these little stories about them.  You can contact me by leaving a comment here, or you can leave a comment on my other blog at http://acadianroots.blogspot.com .

Now changing the subject how do you like my latest binder? I decided to leave the Title so that it can be named what you it to be. It can be a photo album it can be a scrapbook or a journal or used for collectors. The uses are endless. You can find this binder and many more at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*  And I would like to share that I made a good sale last week, I was very pleased. It is a good feeling to know that someone out there somewhere approves of my designs and products. Until next time have a great day.

Hard Work pays off

Beautiful Mousepad

Beautiful Mousepad

Sometimes it is true, hard work does pay off. I have been working hard on my zazzle gallery. With all the competition out there sometimes you may think it is not worth your while. But I am a person who doesn’t give up too easily. I remember when I first began my family tree, and I was looking for this birth of one of my ancestors, and he was a hard person to find. Every day I would go to the center and look, and look. I did not know this at the time but the president of the center was watching me and he later told me he was expecting me to give up anytime, but I never did and yes I did find my ancestor. So my gallery is the the same, I started not having a clue what I was doing, and even know there are lots of things I have not learned yet, but I keep trying and anyway the day before yesterday I received an email saying I had been given the zazzle artist award for my beautiful Flower Girl Mousepad. I was so surprised. ME ? Winning a zazzle artist award? Well you can bet that I am honored, so this award gave me more of a reason to keep on going. And some sales to go along with my award sure made my day. So yesterday I added some products with my Pigeon image as you can see above. I am proud of my achievements. If you want to see more of my products including my Flower Girl Mousepad that won the award go to http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*   And if you get discouraged about anything, do not give up, keep on going, eventually all your work will pay off. Have a great day

Big Acadian Event at Grand Pre

Acadian Badges
Acadian Badges

This is an event you don’t want to miss. I would love to be there.
On September 5 2010 the Grand Pre Society is looking for volunteers for an Historical re-enactment of the assembling of 418 men and boys in the the Grand Pre Church on September 5 1755. At three o’clock in the afternoon on September 5, Lieutenant Colonel John Winslow read the order of the Deportation to the 418 Acadian men and boys who were being held prisoner in the church at Grand Pre which had been transformed into a command post. And so began the deportation of the inhabitants of the Grand Pre region. The last transport ship left Minas Basin on December 20 1755.

What was the size of the former Grand Pre church? The answer to this question will open more trails for the archeologists and historians who for centuries have been looking for traces of the ancient church Saint Charles des Mines in Grand Pre.
To attempt to answer this question, the Promotional Society of Grand Pre are organizing an activity that will allow the people to visualize the size of the church all the while participating in the living story. We know that 418 men and boys were in the church under the orders of Winslow when he gave the order with the assitant of an interpreter. Around 200 of these Acadians were held prisoner in the church for one month, while the others were held on board vessles.
The Society wants to recruit at least 418 persons who would like to participate in this historical re-enactment to be held in the Grand Pre church .Also present will be an archeologist,a historian and a photographer documenting this event. This living history re-enactment will be held in Grand Pre Sunday September 5 2010. The entrance to the national historical site of Grand Pre will be free for everyone. The people will be asked to present themselves at 130 pm so that they can be ready for 3 oclock for the annual lecture reading of the Order of Deportation. The ones participating are encouraged to wear a costume but it is not obligatory. The meeting will be followed by a commemorative walk from Grand Pre to the Deportation Cross around 2 km.
All the families wanting to participate are invited to sign up ahead of time.Send an email to
5sept1755@grand-pre.com. For more information on the activities taking place you can go to
http://www.grand-pre.com/ .
A brief rundown:
Everyone gathers in the church, they are trying to get the exact amount of people that was in the church.
At 3pm someone representing John Winslow will read the Order of Deportation followed by the raising of the flag.
At 3.30 pm  a Commemorative walk from the Memorial church to the Deportation Cross.
This is an event you don’t want to miss, so mark the date down, and if you want to partipate send an email to the above address.
If you are interested in any acadian products like badges, and shirts, shoes, hats, check out my gallery at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*.

All about children

Children Poem Poster
Children Poem Poster

Children are so very important in this world of ours. Someday they will become adults and many will leave a mark on history. It is amazing seeing a newborn baby, and knowing that maybe one day he or she could be a hero, an astronaut,a doctor, a president or prime minister and so many other things. But we have to let the children be children for as long as they can. They need our love and our guidance and they also need our protection. In todays society there are so many terrible things happening. For example when I was little, I could go play  outside , I could go in the nearby woods which were just bushes and not fear anything. Today it is not safe to let our children out of our sights. And if we live near woods or forests, it is not safe either, this week there has been three episodes with coyotes getting bolder. One man who lives in the country had a pack of coyotes hanging around his yard, they were afraid to go out, another lady was walking down a country road when this coyote headed right for her and snapped at her leg, can you imagine a young child? No it is not safe for our children now days. Children have to be taught safety, taught to walk with a friend, not to talk to strangers, never to get in a car with strangers or for that matter not to get in a car unless their parents tells them who is picking them up. All these things run through my head. Children have to learn how to be street wise. But besides all of this they have to be children for as long as they can for they grow up so fast. One day they are babies then they are getting married. Time goes by so fast it is unbelievable.

Praise your children when they do good at school, if they do not do so good try and encourage them to do better, don’t yell and punish them, talk to them, let them know they can do better and you never know that might be what they need.Support your children and most of all talk to them and with them. Be close to your children. They are a blessing to have, cherish that because there are many couples out there wanting children and they cannot have them.
I created this little poem poster that you see ,it is a poem I made myself, you can see more at my gallery at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*  I also recently have added some products with some Scottish Tartan images. I do hope you will stop by and look around. In the meantime Hug your children, keep them close.
Have a great day

The good old days

King Edward V11 keychain

King Edward V11 keychain

Have you ever heard your parents or grandparents say “those were the good ole days”? I often heard my parents say it. So I want to share with you something about a relative of mine. She had to iron an outfit for her daughter for an important occasion, and didn’t her iron break down? So she phoned her husband all upset because her daughter needed her dress ironed for that very night. So her husband said to her, don’t worry I have an idea, I will iron it when I get home. She said to him, how are you going to do that? he said ,you know the three antique irons we have? Well there is one that is not rusty, I will use that, heat it on the stove and put a damp cloth over the dress and iron it. A little later she phoned him and said,”it is done, I ironed the dress the way you explained it BUT my arm is so sore, how did our ancestors every put up with the pain seeing as they had three irons, two heating on the stove while using the third one. And she continued to say “If my washer breaks down , don’t think for one minute that I will use my old scrub board.” So maybe those good old days were not so good after all, what do you think?  I love antiques and the stories that goes along with them. I once bought an old floor model radio with tubes in the back, I paid five dollars for it, good buy huh? Gave it away to my relatives. Now the keychain above is a great souvenir to keep, it was from a 1910 big penny and that was the same year that King Edward died. I also have other items in my gallery with his image on it, you can check it out at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*   and you can also check out the rest of my gallery ,be sure to have lots of time, and bring your favorite beverage and enjoy.
Have a great day

Emails and Scams

Cartoon images on Children Shoes

Cartoon images on Children Shoes

First of all before I talk about the image, I would like to talk about the emails we get and how some of them are scams and dangerous to open. Have you ever gotten emails from the following  yahoo,MSN,Pay pal, banks, and anything else familiar with your personal accounts? Well don’t open them, delete them, they will say something like they need to update your accounts, they ask for your name ,passwords, account # etc, don’t do it, delete it. Yahoo once told me they would never send any such mail to anyone. If you have more than one email, you will sometimes notice these same messages coming to your other mail too. Don’t open them ,just delete them. Also have you ever gotten mail saying one of your friends wants you to join them, you have to click accept? Don’t do it, contact that friend personally and ask them if they sent it and what it is all about. Also not sure how true this is, but all the jokes you get which are forwarded? I would check into that too, I don’t usually forward jokes and I usually delete them when I get them. There is so much stuff going on ,on the internet, sometimes it is scary. So please be very cautious at opening your mail, I don’t open greeting cards because they can be a virus. Someone can also steal you identity , I had an email which I deleted where I was getting letters to me from me with my very same email addee selling Viagara. So beware and be careful.

Now getting back to the shoes above, these are Keds Children Shoes, you can buy them with laces or slip ons, I think these are great for any child, I have created lots more of them with different designs and also I have created ladies and mens shoes if you are in the vicinity do stop by and have a look at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*

Thanks for the visit, I do hope the above advice will be worthwhile

What are fads?

What are fads? Who creates them? Have you ever wondered?

Well first of all Fads are crazes,or things started by one certain person and everyone wants to do it. Hula hoops was a fad, and do you remember back when everyone had a hula hoop. What about the yoyo? It was also a fad.Bobby Sox ,Duck tail,Brush Cut,yes they were all fads. What about the Iroquois hair cut? Bell bottom slacks or pants ,the mini skirts, the bikini, all these were fads  started by someone. Now  Zazzle has Keds shoes for men , women and children, many zazzlers have created their own unique styles and designs. So hopefully these shoes may become fads. Be the first to buy them and wear them. See how many friends will follow you.I have created some men, women and children shoes, I am quite proud of my own ideas and I do hope you will also like them. I shall be adding more later. So I hope you will got to http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*  click on shoes and find a nice pair to suit you.

Thanks for stopping by,hope to see you again

Where has Zazzyallicor been?

Hello everyone, no I did not leave, and I know many have been wondering why I haven’t blogged in a while.Well I was scheduled for surgery late Feb. so I figured it would be nothing, I would be up in no time. Had foot surgery, how bad can that be, I said to myself, oh in two days I will be up walking. Not so, I was so very wrong. The pain was unbearable, two days later guess what? I felt this rash along my jaw line, I thought it must be the pillow from just lying there. The next morning I got up and lo and behold the rash had spread all under my neck, side of my face into my scalp. Looked at the side effects from my pills, oh no, if a rash appears go to the ER. So off to the ER I went. The doctor came,I was expecting him to say yep you got a bad allergic reaction. But he looked at me and the rash and said,”My dear you have the shingles. So am on meds for ten days.So as you can see, I had a reason for not coming to see you .My friend also landed in the heart hospital,is out and has to return for heart surgery. Surely all this will be over soon.

In the meantime I am up in my wheelchair, took a few steps today and I went and created more stuff for my gallery. If you happen to go to my gallery at http://www.zazzle.com/allicor*  and click on the tee shirts you will see my latest monster or creature t-shirt called weido. I wonder if you will know what it is?I can tell you it is a one of a kind monster. He is on the back of some hoodies ,too. I created a few more mugs, and even new shoes .Did you know that I now create men’s shoes too? There are two kinds, the hi rise and the low, they are athletic shoes, so have a look at those while you are checking my gallery. I will try to come back very soon, in the meantime, do not thing I have forgotten you.

Until then have a great day
